Mahalo Nui For Supporting Uluoʻa
An ʻaha ʻaina to celebrate and perpetuate the mission of the Native Hawaiian Legal Corporation
Mahalo nui to all who came and supported NHLC at this year’s Uluoʻa anniversary celebration. NHLC is honored to have served Hawaiʻi and our mission of protecting and advancing Native Hawaiian identity and culture for 50 years and continues to remain steadfast in this commitment for generations to come. This would not be possible without the momentous support of organizations and individuals throughout the Lāhui.
Since 1974, the Native Hawaiian Legal Corporation (NHLC) has provided legal assistance to families and communities engaged in perpetuating the culture and traditions of Hawaiʻi’s indigenous people. NHLC has served as a bridge between western law and Native Hawaiian custom and tradition, successfully translating and informing western jurisprudence from a Hawaiian worldview, protecting and preserving that which makes Hawaiʻi our home.
Uluoʻa means to stand erect or upright, speaking to the work of NHLC and the many others in our community who have dedicated themselves to the preservation and protection of Native Hawaiian people, rights, practices, and places. You can view a copy of the event program using the button.
